Why paying for the film and why respect copyright ?
One of the pillars of Maria Montessori’s philosophy is to respect the child’s work, activity and creativity. Naturally therefore, it follows that we must also respect the work of adults and their creativity.
The making of the film took almost 5 years to the author, who is still very involved in the development and promotion of the film abroad. And he is currently starting a new film on educational violence.
This is why the film cannot be free and why we protect it in order to avoid piracy: for the respect of copyright and the economic activity of our small association which without it, could not offer screenings public in cinemas or schools, translations into new languages.
Copyright allows to pay for the work carried out for the making of the movie (displacements, hiring of materials, composition of the original music, archives used, administrative work and diffusion, …). And when possible, help fund the following projects.
Our team members are multi-tasking and work part-time to broadcast this unique film. There are :
– Angela E. : in charge of distribution in the French, Spanish, Portuguese and Italian areas ; and also administrative & accounting monitoring
– Anne-Sophie C-V. : in charge of distribution in the English speaking area and the rest of the world ; and also communication via websites & social networks.
– Alexandre M. : who provides technical support and coordination.
It’s hard to imagine a world without access to culture, without access to works imagined and created by artists. It is for all these reasons that our film is not free.
